Iran’s Export of Food, Agricultural Products Exceeds $4 bln in 9 Months: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson of the Trade Promotion Commission of Iran’s House of Industry, Mine and Trade said $4.3 billion worth of agricultural and food products were exported from Iran to 130 countries in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year.

Rouhollah Latifi stated that the country’s export of food and agricultural products to 130 countries from March 21 to December 22, 2023 registered a 22 percent growth compared to the previous year’s corresponding period.

More than six million tons of fishery, livestock, agricultural, horticultural and food products, valued at over $4.312.948 billion, were exported to those countries, showing a 7.2 and 22 percent hike in volume and value respectively compared to the same period in 2022, he said. 

In this period, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Pakistan and Afghanistan were Iran’s main target markets for export of the agricultural and horticultural products respectively, Latifi highlighted.

Iran exported $1.405 billion worth of agricultural and horticultural products to neighboring Iraq from March 21 to December 22, 2023, he said, adding that $531 million worth of these products were exported from the country to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), IRNA reported.
