Christian Bauer Named Iran’s Sabre Coach
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – French coach Christian Bauer was named the Iran national team sabre coach.
Bauer, a fencing coach who specializes in sabre, has coached fencers to multiple Olympic medals.
At Athens 2004, he guided Aldo Montano to gold. At Beijing 2008, he helped the Chinese win medals. At London 2012 and Rio 2016, the Russians won multiple medals with him at the helm.
Bauer currently trains the world’s No. 1 fencer Sandro Bazadze.
