Iran, Qatar Coordinate Efforts at Gaza Peace
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of Iran and the emir of Qatar discussed the collective efforts by Tehran and Doha to settle the crisis in Gaza and help the Palestinians suffering from Israeli strikes.
In a meeting with Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held in Doha on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian hailed the close relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
Iran’s “cordial and brotherly” ties with Qatar can be improved by the full implementation of the previous deals, he added.
Amirabdollahian also appreciated Qatar’s mediatory and benevolent role in some issues regarding Iran and stated that the cooperation between the two countries over the regional and international issues is “constructive and can boost regional and international peace, stability and security.”
Pointing to the Palestinian issue and the tragic developments in Gaza, he highlighted Iran’s diplomatic efforts to stop the aggression against Gaza and the genocide of the Palestinians.
The foreign minister also expressed gratitude to Qatar for its diplomatic and compassionate deeds on the issue.
He also highlighted the significance of interaction between Iran and Qatar to come up with a political solution to stop the Zionist regime’s genocidal crimes in Palestine, lifting the siege on Gaza, delivering immediate humanitarian aid to the enclave, putting an end to the displacement of Palestinians, pushing for a Palestinian-Palestinian solution for administering Gaza and the West Bank in the post-conflict phase, and reconstruction of the region.
For his part, the Qatari emir expressed satisfaction with the deep, friendly and brotherly relations between Qatar and Iran.
He added that the bilateral ties “have never been so close”, saying, “It shows we have been successful in improving friendly and constructive ties between the two countries.”
The emir also praised Iran for its continuous diplomatic efforts in supporting Palestine and pursuing a political solution to stop the war against Gaza.
He then shed light on the latest achievements through Qatar’s diplomatic efforts to establish truce and find a political solution to the crisis in Gaza.
The two sides further discussed the joint efforts to support the Palestinian nation, stop the Israeli regime’s attacks against Gaza, send humanitarian aid to the enclave, and find a Palestinian-Palestinian solution for governing Palestine.
