Iran Enters Top 20 in FIFA World Ranking
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national football team climbed one spot to hold a slot in the top 20 Men's football World Ranking released on Thursday.
Qatar and Jordan are Asia's biggest movers in the latest Ranking.
Qatar moved up 21 spots following its successful defense of its AFC Asian Cup title while Jordan, who emerged runner-up in the continental showpiece, improved 17 spots.
Japan, who was eliminated in the quarter-finals of Qatar 2023, remained Asia's highest ranked side but moved down one spot at 18.
Qatar 2023 semifinalists Iran is second at 20th while Korea Republic, also eliminated at the last four stage, is third at 22nd.
Rounding up Asia's top 10 sides are Australia (23), Saudi Arabia (53), Iraq (59), Uzbekistan (66) and United Arab Emirates (69).
The next FIFA World Ranking will be issued on April 4.
