40 Killed in Israel's Deadly Assault in Central Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli forces unleashed a deadly assault on central Gaza, resulting in the deaths of at least 40 Palestinians, with the majority being women and children, according to official reports.
The Gaza government media office described the attacks in Deir el-Balah as a "heinous massacre," stating that more than 100 people, mostly women and children, were injured in the assaults.
"We hold the American administration and the international community, in addition to Israel, fully responsible for these ongoing crimes, and we call on the free world to immediately put an end to this war of extermination that the Israeli army is waging against civilians," the statement said.
Al Jazeera's Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Rafah in southern Gaza, stated that residential homes were "attacked without any prior warning" in the strikes.
The Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas, in a statement on Friday, commented that the attacks on homes "confirm to the international community that it [Israel] is a rogue entity that does not care about human laws and values."
According to Gaza’s health ministry, at least 29,514 people have been killed in Gaza by Israeli attacks since October 7, with nearly 70,000 people injured. More than 100 people have been killed in the past 24 hours.
The Israeli war on Gaza has forced 85% of the territory's population into internal displacement, amidst acute shortages of food, clean water, and medicine, while 60% of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.
Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered the Tel Aviv regime to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza.
However, hostilities have continued unabated, and aid deliveries remain insufficient to address the humanitarian catastrophe.
