Iran’s Aminzadeh Seizes Gold at 2024 Fazza Dubai World Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Ahmad Aminzadeh claimed a gold medal with a record-breaking lift in the 13th Fazza Dubai 2024 ParaPowerlifting World Cup on Saturday.

Aminzadeh triumphed in the +107 kg category, securing a gold medal with a record-breaking of 267kg lift.

This victory not only places Aminzadeh at the forefront of his category but also solidifies his qualification for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. His teammate, Mehdi Sayadi, despite a strong performance, narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth with 231kg.

Iranian powerlifter Mohsen Bakhtiar had won a gold medal in the World Cup with a lift of 196kg in the men's up to 59kg.

Fazza 13th Para Powerlifting 2024 World Cup, which serves as qualification for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, has brought 183 powerlifters from 32 countries together in Dubai, the UAE from February 28 to March 6.
