Persepolis, Sepahan into Hazfi Cup Fifth Round
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis and Sepahan football teams booked their place in Iran’s 2023-24 Hazfi Cup Round of 16.
In Isfahan, Sepahan beat Shams Azar 3-0 thanks to goals from Reza Asadi, Omid Noorafkan and Reza Shekari.
In Tehran, Persepolis defeated Azadegan League side Naft Gachsaran 3-0. Mehdi Torabi, Danial Esmaeilifar and Issa Alekasir were on target for the host.
Earlier in the day, Esteghlal lost to Mes 2-0 in Rafsanjan. Mohammad Mehdi Mohebbi scored the first goal in the 25th minute and Muntadher Mohammed made it 2-0 in the 67th minute.
The 2023–24 Hazfi Cup is the 37th season of the Iranian football knockout competition. The champion of this competition will get a license to participate in the Super Cup and the AFC Champions League Elite next season.
Persepolis is the defending champion.
