Leonardo Afonso Named Iran Volleyball Assistant Coach
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leonardo Afonso S. de Carvalho was named Iran’s men’s national volleyball team assistant coach.
The Brazilian coach has recently worked at Saudi Arabian volleyball club Al-Nassr.
French coach Cyril Ong had previously been appointed as Iran's assistant coach.
Last week, the volleyball federation of Iran appointed Mauricio Paes as the new head coach of Team Melli.
Paes was named Iran's head coach until the end of the 2024 Olympic Games, with the option to extend for two more years.
