Over $1 Billion Non-Oil Goods Exported from Iran’s Mehran Border Crossing in 11 Months

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The head of the customs offices of Iran’s Ilam province said $1.727 billion of non-oil products were exported from the Mehran Border Crossing in the 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2023, to February 22, 2024).

Mir-Aqa Abdi added that these products were exported to neighboring Iraq and other countries.

He said 2.943 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at $1.727 billion, were exported from the border crossing to Iraq and other countries in the 11 months, showing an 18 percent hike compared to the same period last year.

Abdi further pointed out that more than 7 million people frequented the Mehran Border Terminal between March 21, 2023, and February 22, 2024, registering a 38-percent hike compared to last year's corresponding period, Mehr news agency reported. 

Earlier, Abdi had predicted that the volume of non-oil goods exported to Iraq through this border crossing would surpass three million tons by the end of the year (to end March 20, 2024).
