Iran’s Export of Food, Agricultural Products Up 23% in 11 Months

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s export of food and agricultural products in the 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2023) registered a 23-percent growth compared to the same period last year, an official said.

Iran exported about $5.6 billion of livestock, fishery, agricultural, and food products from March 21, 2023, to February 22, 2024, showing a 23% hike compared to the same period last year, the spokesman of the Trade Promotion and International Affairs of Iran’s House of Industry, Mine and Trade noted.

Rouhollah Latifi added that more than $5 billion of fisheries, livestock, dairy, agricultural, horticultural, greenhouse products and canned foods were exported from Iran to more than 130 countries in the 11 months.

The director general of Iran Central Rural Cooperatives Organization referred to the target markets of Iranian food and agricultural products in this period and added that Iraq was at the top of the list, according to IRNA.

Iraq imported more than $1 billion of food and agricultural products from Iran in this period. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Russia respectively, he added.
