Iran, Oman Discuss Gaza Truce Efforts

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Oman talked about the latest developments in Gaza, with both emphasizing the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in the enclave which has been suffering from more than seven months of Israeli strikes.

In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Albusaidi talked about a range of bilateral and regional issues, including the most recent developments in the Gaza Strip.

They also reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to the enhancement of bilateral relations.

Reviewing the latest developments in Gaza, the two ministers called for an end to the Zionist regime’s crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people, an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of prisoners, and the delivery of humanitarian aids to the Gazans.

The Israeli regime’s seizure and closure of the Rafah crossing in Gaza has raised concerns that already-scarce food and medical supplies will be further depleted and lead to a catastrophic humanitarian disaster.

At least 34,789 people have been killed and 78,204 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
