Hezbollah Strikes Israeli Military Positions in Response to Gaza Aggression

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Lebanese Hezbollah resistance forces conducted a strike against Israeli military positions in the northern side of the 1948 occupied territories in retaliation for the brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip.

Lebanon’s media outlets have reported that Hezbollah fighters targeted a group of soldiers in the al-Malkia post on Friday, resulting in casualties in the targeted area.

This action follows the Israeli military's announcement that a soldier was killed in a Hezbollah mortar and missile attack on an army position in Malkia on Wednesday. The deceased soldier was identified as Staff Sergeant Haim Sabach, 20, of the border defense corps’ 869th combat intelligence collection unit. Another soldier sustained minor injuries in the assault, according to the Israeli military.

Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for launching anti-tank guided missiles and mortars from Lebanon at Israeli military positions in the Malkia area. In response, the Israeli military stated that it conducted multiple waves of strikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.

In a separate incident, Hezbollah launched a drone attack on an Israeli military command in the Kfar Giladi settlement on the northern flank of the Israeli-occupied lands on Thursday, resulting in casualties among Israeli officers. The attack was reportedly carried out with multiple drones in retaliation for Israel's assassination of three Hezbollah members in Lebanon's southern village of Bafliyeh.

Unnamed Lebanese military sources have reported that one of the air-to-air missiles fired by Israeli aircraft toward the drones exploded near Lebanon's southeastern village of Khiam. Additionally, several other missiles fired by the Israeli Iron Dome missile system at the drones detonated in the airspace of the border area in southern Lebanon.

Israeli attack included five airstrikes and approximately 30 shells fired on several sites and border towns and villages in southern Lebanon. About 30 surface-to-surface missiles and several barrages of rockets were launched from Lebanon toward the occupied lands.

Since October 7, when Israel initiated a genocidal war on Gaza resulting in the deaths of at least 34,904 Palestinians, the Israeli regime has frequently attacked southern Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of at least 390 people on the Lebanese border, including over 70 civilians.

In response, Hezbollah has launched near-daily rocket attacks on Israeli positions. The Lebanese resistance group has previously repelled two Israeli wars against Lebanon in 2000 and 2006, forcing the regime to retreat in both conflicts.
