Iranian Wrestlers Claim Two Gold, One Silver at Don Kolov

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Three Iranian freestyle wrestlers Hassan Yazdani, Parviz Hadi and Reza Yazdani won two gold and one silver medals respectively at the United World Wrestling (UWW) Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov tournament in Bulgaria on Sunday.

Hassan Yazdani, who won a gold medal in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, defeated Ali Shabanau from Belarus 16-5 in the 86kg final bout.

Hadi also beat Oleksandr Khotsianivskyi from Ukraine 6-4 in the 125kg final match.

Reza Yazdani, 34, made a great job winning a bronze medal at the 97kg after defeating Russian Igor Alekseevitch Ovsiannikov 8-4.

Yazdani hopes to make his dream come true winning a medal at the Olympic Games.

The UWW Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov tournament, organized by Bulgarian Wrestling Federation, is awarding UWW Ranking Series points which in turn will determine the top four seeds at the 2019 World Championships in Kazakhstan.
