Syrian Army Targets Terrorists’ Positions in Hama, Idlib

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A number of terrorists were killed in Hama and Idlib inter-provincial regions when the Syrian army conducted a retaliatory attack on Wednesday using artillery shells and missiles against Ezza Battalions and al-Nusra Front militants.

At least a dozen militants were killed or wounded during the army attack in al-Zaqqoum, Qleidin and al-Zakat areas in Hama countryside.

SANA reported that army units also targeted terrorists’ supply lines and positions in Tarmila, al-Naqir and at vicinity of Khan Sheikhoun in Idlib countryside.

The areas where the clashes broke out are located in a planned buffer zone, which surrounds Idlib and also parts of the adjacent provinces of Aleppo and Hama.

Under a deal reached following a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in September, all militants should have withdrawn from the demilitarization zone by October 15.

However, al-Qaeda-linked Takfiri terrorists said they refuse to either leave the buffer zone or hand over their weapons.
