Iranian Taekwondo Athletes Win Two Bronzes at CISM Military World Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two taekwondo athletes from Iran claimed two bronze medals at the 7th International Military Sports Council (CISM) Military World Games on Thursday.

Mohammad Hasan Palangafkan seized a bronze in the men’s -58kg after defeating his South Korean rival 13-9 in the bronze medal match.

Uzbekistan’s Rashitov Ulugbek won the gold medal after beating Liang Yushuai from China.

Also, Mohammad Mehdi Emadi claimed a bronze medal in the men’s -68kg after beating the Bulgarian athlete 20-9.

Brazil’s Edival Marques beat Sardor Toirov from Uzbekistan in the final match.

Nearly 10,000 military personnel from over 100 countries are competing in the games in central China's Wuhan.

The competition is scheduled to run through Sunday (October 27).
