Persepolis Loses to Zob Ahan: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team was defeated against Zob Ahan 1-0 in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Vahid Mohammadzadeh scored the winner in the 25th minute.
Zob Ahan almost escaped from relegation with the vital win.
“We showed a poor performance in the first half and were punished at last. In the second half, we put Zob Ahan under pressure but they defended well and didn’t let us to score,” Persepolis coach Yahya Golmohammadi said.
Persepolis, who has already won the title, has 63 points, followed by Esteghlal (49) and Tractor (46).
Zob Ahan sits 10th with 29 points, five points above the drop zone with two matches to go.
