Persepolis to Wear Black against Tractor: IPL

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team players will wear black kit in the match against Tractor on Thursday to respect former defender of their club Ali Ansarian who passed away on Wednesday.

Persepolis is scheduled to meet the Tabriz-based side at the Yadegar-e Emam Stadium and the team’s players will wear black kit in remembrance of Ali Ansarian.

Ansarian died of COVID-19 in Tehran’s Farhikhtegan Hospital.

Ansarian played for Iranian football club Persepolis for seven years. He also was a member of Persepolis’ archrival Esteghlal in the 2006-07 season.

Ansarian also won six caps for Iran national football team.

Last week, Ansarian’s teammate Mehrdad Minavand died at the age of 45 due to COVID-19 in Tehran.
