Imam Reza (AS) Shrine Serving Pakistani Arbaeen Pilgrims on Border
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Pakistani pilgrims entering Iran to travel to Iraq for the Arbaeen season are receiving round-the-clock services provided by the Keramat Razavi Foundation at the border crossings in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan.
Thousands of Pakistani pilgrims, who are crossing Iran to reach Karbala in Iraq, are warmly welcomed by the servants of Imam Reza (AS) shrine.
“We are providing round-the-clock services to Pakistani Arbaeen pilgrims on Mir Javeh and Rimdan border crossings this year, similar to previous years,” said Dadkhoda Khodayar, the director of the Razavi Volunteers and Public Services Center in Sistan and Balouchestan.
“Keramat Razavi Foundation has prioritized the facilitation of the march for the foreign pilgrims in Sistan and Baluchestan Province besides providing services to the underprivileged residents of the province,” he added.
The official also noted that Razavi Volunteers and Public Services Center in the province offers services to the Pakistani pilgrims in three sectors, namely accommodation, food and transportation.
“Also, a 5,000 square meter guesthouse affiliated with Imam Reza (AS) shrine hosts the Pakistani pilgrims on Mir Javeh border crossing,” Khodayar said.
He noted that the services for the Pakistani pilgrims in the Iranian province will be available until September 16.
Arbaeen marks the 40th day after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), in 680 AD.
The Iraqi city of Karbala, which hosts the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), attracts millions of pilgrims every year, even non-Muslims, who create the world’s hugest human gathering in modern history.
