Ghana 1st Destination of Iran’s Export to African Countries in 7 Months: Official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesman for the Trade Promotion Commission of Iran’s House of Industry, Mine and Trade referred to Ghana as the first destination of Iran’s export of non-oil products to African countries in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year.
Some $434 million worth of non-oil goods were exported from Iran to 38 African countries in this period, Rouhollah Latifi said, adding that Iran imported more than $47 million worth of goods from 19 African countries.
He said that 1.205 million tons of goods, valued at $434 million, were exported from Iran to the African states in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to October 22, 2023), showing a 33 and 53 percent decline in weight and value respectively compared to the same period of last year.
In this timespan, Iran imported 38,122 tons of goods, valued at $47.434 million, from African countries, registering a 42 and 21 percent decline in weight and value respectively compared to last year’s corresponding period, he added.
Latifi noted that Ghana was the first destination of Iranian exports to Africa from March 21 to October 22, 2023, followed by South Africa, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mozambique, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Djibouti, Algeria, Congo, and Ivory Coast.
