Turkey Welcomes Iran's Participation in Syria Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Turkish Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin said that the presence of Iran in the ongoing talks between Turkey, Syria, and Russia is beneficial for resolving the conflict in Syria.

"As stated by our president, we welcome Iran's involvement in the process. Iran is a significant player in the Syrian arena and their presence in the talks, facilitated by Russia, can contribute to resolving the conflict and promoting peace in the region," Kalin said in a press conference that was broadcast by the TRT television channel.

The date and location of the next meeting have not been determined yet, but Kalin said that the foreign ministers of both countries are in talks and a meeting could take place in the near future.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated earlier at a news conference following discussions with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry that Russia believed Iran should be included in any future talks to settle Turkey-Syria relations. He stated that an agreement had been reached on the subject.
