Iran’s Oil Production Above 3 Million bpd: Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s oil minister said the country is producing over 3.3 million barrels of oil per day and is planning to increase the output as there are many customers for crude in the world.

In comments on Friday, Javad Owji put the current output of crude oil in Iran at more than 3.3 million barrels per day, adding that his ministry is planning to raise the production volume since the Iranian oil has international customers.

Despite the tough sanctions, Iran has managed to raise its oil production, he added.

Figures released in early October indicated that OPEC oil output had risen for a second straight month in September, led by increases in Nigeria and Iran despite ongoing cuts by Saudi Arabia and other members of the wider OPEC+ alliance to support the market.

The rise in September was led by Nigeria, which has been battling with crude theft and insecurity in its oil-producing region. Iran, which has been boosting supply despite US sanctions, also pumped more, with output hitting the highest level since 2018.
