Iran’s Saberi, Amirian Claim Two Bronzes at 2024 Asian Indoor Athletic C’ships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mehdi Saberi and Ali Amirian of Iran won two bronze medals in the 11th edition of the Asian Indoor Athletic Championships underway in Tehran on Saturday.
Indian thrower Tajinderpal Singh Toor claimed the gold medal in the men’s shot put with 19.72 meters.
The silver medal went to Kazakhstan’s Ivanov Ivan with 19.08 meters and Saberi took the bronze with a throw of 18.74 meters.
Amirian also claimed a bronze medal in the men’s 1500 meters with a time of 3:49.33 minutes.
Iran’s Elham Hashemi had earlier finished in third place in the women’s shot put, throwing 14.27 meters.
The 2024 Asian Indoor Athletic Championships are being held from February 17 to 19 in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
