10 Countries Account for 84% of Iran’s Foreign Trade Share in 11 Months: IRICA

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey, Iraq, India, Pakistan, the Russian Federation, Oman, Germany and Afghanistan made up 84 percent of Iran’s total foreign trade value in 11 months, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) said.

Of Iran’s total foreign trade, 136.64 million tons of goods, valued at $88.441 billion, were exchanged with the aforementioned 10 countries in the first 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2023, to February 22, 2024), the report added.

They were Iran’s top 10 trade partners in this period, accounting for 84 percent of the country’s total trade exchanges, the IRICA added.

In this period, Iran’s trade exchanges with Turkey registered a 15 and 30 percent decline in value and volume respectively, it said.

According to the report, Iran’s trade exchanges with Germany in this period showed a 46 percent decline in volume and a 9 percent hike in value, Mehr news agency reported. 

Russia had the most trade exchanges with Iran, registering a 54 and 24 percent growth in terms of volume and value respectively, the IRICA added.
