Iranian Teams to Observe Ansarian Minute of Silence

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s football teams will hold a minute’s silence in Matchweek 14 of the Iran Professional League (IPL) following death of former Persepolis defender Ali Ansarian.

The ex-defender of Iran national football team and Persepolis passed away due to COVID-19 on Wednesday at the age of 43.

Ansarian was hospitalized in intensive care unit (ICU) of the Farhikhtegan Hospital in Tehran but lost the battle with COVID-19.

Now, Iran Football League Organization has announced that the teams will hold a minute silence ahead of their matches.
